NOTE: A personal letter from the author, written to the founding members of JesusTeam on February 11, 2019:

I want to briefly share the heart behind JesusTeam, and hopefully, in the process, give an idea of its possibilities.

In 2002 my dad purchased the JesusTeam.com domain name. Back then purchasing domains was like investing in property; they would continue to grow in value as time went on. The domain sat largely unused for many years after that.

About two years ago, we began to have the dream of developing JesusTeam into some kind of network for Sons and Daughters who were united in their passion for God. I began to dream and write down different ideas and possibilities in my journal. We didn't have a clear vision yet, but the seeds of dream and desire had been planted.

During those days we were praying to God for community. We were learning and experiencing new things, but we often felt alone, without knowing many like-minded people to share our hearts and discuss our experiences with. However, I realized that if this is how we feel, then there are others—many others—all around the world who feel the exact same way. I believe that God has many of these people scattered throughout the earth like salt and light. And in this day and age that we are living in, He is raising up MANY around the world. Therefore, there is a desperate NEED and great potential for something like this.

The motivational questions behind this project are:

“What if we could create a home for these burning hearts to come together? (A meeting place; uniting place).”

“What if we could all encourage and learn (benefit) from one another, and thus grow together?”

“What if JesusTeam became a tool for making global connections, that resulted in the birth of local gatherings and moves of God around the world?”

And on top of all those questions:

“What could we accomplish together? what would be possible? and how would we change the world?”

I have deep, deep love for community. Why? Because I believe that God has a deep, deep love for community. He created us with our unique differences and designed it in a way that we all need each other. In fact, He designed it in such a way that when we come together, we form HIM—an Assembly of God.  I believe this is because He delights in seeing exchange between us, where the God in you connects with the God in me, and together we form something divinely good.

We kept the dream in our hearts and minds, and today, we are ready to test launch JesusTeam! A social network made intently for Sons, Seekers, and Mystics alike! For now, we are keeping membership per invite only, so that we can test it out for ourselves in its initial stage.

All content is private and non-visible to outside users (non-members), and everything we post is accessible only to a handful of invited members. Our hope is that JesusTeam would be a place where we can feel safe to express ourselves and the things God is putting on our hearts. With that in mind, let us honor one another, and sincerely consider (greatly value) everything that is posted and shared by each individual as coming from a sacred place within the heart.

We will consider implementing other features in the future as needed. Currently, these are the major functions of this network:

  • News Feed (Home) the main community page where members can share their thoughts via statuses, posts photos, and also share links to other resources.
  • Forums where members can ask questions and create discussion topics.
  • Community Blog where everyone can contribute posts. Posts made here do not necessarily have to be long. It is a place where members can share revelations, opinions, visions/experiences that they've had, or even short poems or songs that they want other members to be able to read. After being posted, the author can then edit or delete his or her post.
  • Live Chat just for fun.

So, let's use this platform to join hands and dream big together. Let's keep our hearts at the front lines of what God is doing. We hope that JesusTeam will be a place where we all can go to be encouraged and hear the heartbeat of God through the voices of others. 🙂
